Curly

Memories from Joyce, a Blue Bell staff member:

We bonded right away and she was such a sweet cat. Curly She had a curly tail that curled right up over her back, hence the name. I called her Curly Q. She was diagnosed with feline leukemia about a year ago so she had to be separated from the other cats in her own suite. She craved attention and would literally throw herself against you to be loved and scratched. She especially loved her Zoom Groom brush. She would get so excited and throw her body against it and rub her gums and head all along the rubber nubs.

She loved the sun and hiding under blankets in her bed or in this little sack bed she had. I called her the little cave girl. I also called her the little sun goddess cuz she loved the sun so much. I built her a perch up high and she could always be found there in the afternoons soaking up the rays. She had this little patch of bronze color on her head... I told her she had been touch by God there.

She was strong, round and solid despite her diagnosis. I most always took my lunches in her suite with her and we would sit in the sun together and I would groom her and she would fall asleep on my lap once she realized I wasn't leaving.

Goodbye sweet Curly... Curly Q, my lunch buddy, little cave girl... my little sun goddess...... I'll miss you and I'll never forget you!!!!
